Country Music Series Debuts at Music Mountain!
Inaugural Country series starts July 23rd!

“America’s Oldest Continuing Summer Chamber Music Festival”

(Falls Village, CT) America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain, announces its first Country Music Series to begin Saturday, July 23rd (6:30PM).  Located in the northwest corner of Connecticut in the town of Falls Village, the 2011 season will see Music Mountain welcome a trio of special Country Music groups to Gordon Hall scheduled to perform on three Saturday evenings through August 27th.

"We are very excited about the addition of Country Music to our summer schedule.  We look forward to the success of these concerts and consider these three concerts the launch of our annual Country Music series,” stated Music Mountain's board president Nicholas Gordon.

The first Country Music concert on Saturday, July 23rd (6:30pm) will feature the much honored and very popular Bushwhack Band with a jambalaya of Cajun, Country and Zydeco music and dancing.  "Let the Good Times Roll".

The Whiskey Boys follows up on Saturday, August 13th (6:30PM) featuring a young fiddle and guitar duo playing Blue Grass and Old Time Country Music.  David Delaney (violin) and Mark Kilianski (guitar) will be joined by their special guests - banjoist and vocalist Maggie Mackay, and double bass player, Ben Kopf.  "The Whiskey Boys' sound is an infectious mix of Old Time Bluegrass, Irish folk tunes and original melodies with a great pop sensibility. Their songs will leave your foot tapping and a smile on your face!" — Sara Beesley, Programming Manager at Joe's Pub , New York, NY

The Country Music series concludes on Saturday, August 27th (6:30PM) with the acclaimed country band Gunsmoke.  This Fairfield County based band has been named "New York Band of the Year" six consecutive times. Gunsmoke has opened for many country music superstars including Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., and Alan Jackson.  If you love authentic country & western music you won't be disappointed!

Music Mountain’s 1024 square foot dance floor is available and ready for country dancing at all three country music performances.  Beer and wine are also available and, as is the Music Mountain custom, audience members are invited to picnic before the concert on its scenic grounds.

Ticket prices for the 82nd season of Music Mountain are $30 at the door, $27 in advance.  (Admission is FREE for those 18 and under).  Concert times for the Country Series are 6:30pm on the scheduled Saturdays. Group rates and pre season ticket vouchers are available. Discounts apply through participating organizations.
