20^th Annual Jazz Series kicks off June 25th!

(Falls Village, CT) America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain announces the schedule of their 20^th annual Jazz Series starting June 25^th (6:30PM) as part of their 82^nd anniversary season.  Located in Falls Village, Connecticut, Music Mountain will host a quartet of Jazz Groups on the Gordon Hall stage on four Saturday evenings through August 20^th.

"This summer is about two things - great music and extraordinary quality of performance," stated Music Mountain's board president Nicholas Gordon. Located in the northwest corner of Connecticut, Gordon has again arranged for some of the most exciting talent from around the world to grace the Music Mountain stage. “We are looking forward to our 20th year of bringing jazz to our audience, and now, with the addition of our 1024 square foot dance floor, which permits the audience to dance to some of their favorite music, the audience should have even more fun.  These jazz concerts have become an annual tradition which we are proud and pleased to continue,” continued Gordon.

The Jazz Series on Saturday nights at 6:30PM will begin on June 25^th with a performance by The South Shore Syncopators in their Music Mountain debut! The South Shore Syncopators, Long Island’s premiere dance orchestra, bring the 1920s and ‘30s back to life with accurate renditions of great music from the pre-swing decade. Ten instrumentalists and six vocalists make vintage music for new audiences.

Audience favorite, Swingtime Big Band will perform on July 2^nd with Jukebox Saturday Night - a program of the greatest hits and hidden gems of the Big Band years. Music Mountain will welcome the renowned Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks in their Music Mountain debut playing the finest of Big Band Jazz and Swing on July 9^th.   The concert is underwritten by Norman Fields.  Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks are renowned on the New York scene for their commitment to preserving and authentically presenting 1920s and ‘30s jazz and popular music and were featured in the HBO Jazz Age series “Boardwalk Empire.” The Galvanized Jazz Band will return for their 18^th appearance at Music Mountain on August 20^th to conclude this year’s jazz series. One of New England's most popular bands, The Galvanized Jazz Band is renowned for their high energy renditions of New Orleans blues, stomps and spirituals. 

Located in Falls Village, Connecticut, Music Mountain is located on Music Mountain Road, where a short scenic drive will bring music lovers to Gordon Hall with ample & free parking. Beer and wine are available and, as is the Music Mountain custom, audience members are invited to picnic before the concerts on the scenic grounds.

Ticket prices for the 82^nd season of Music Mountain are $30 at the door, $27 in advance. (Admission is FREE for those 18 and under.)  All Jazz concerts begin at 6:30pm on scheduled Saturday evenings.  Group rates and pre season ticket vouchers are available.
