For Immediate Release: (Falls Village, CT) America's favorite summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain, continues their 82nd anniversary season celebration with a weekend of music from the acclaimed Penderecki String Quartet on Saturday, July 30th (6:30PM) -- an all Beethoven program -- and Sunday, July 31st (3PM) a Beethoven and Shostakovich program with pianist Pamela Mia Paul. Over 150 artists have graced the Music Mountain concert stage this summer – 20 chamber, jazz and country groups from around the country. Weekend concerts at Gordon Hall in Falls Village will run thru September 4th. (full season click here) An all Beethoven program will open the Saturday evening concert featuring a brilliant selection including String Quartet in F Major, Opus 135; and String Quartet in A Minor, Opus 132. The Penderecki String Quartet has become one of the most celebrated chamber ensembles of their generation. Approaching their third decade, this remarkable ensemble annually travels to the great concert stages of Europe, including Italy, Madrid, Amsterdam, Paris, and Hong Kong. The quartet is entering their 16th year as Quartet-in-Residence at Waterloo's Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada. Penderecki String Quartet returns for an encore performance on Sunday afternoon, performing Beethoven and Shostakovich with guest artist Pamela Mia Paul, piano. The program will be as follows: Beethoven: String Quartet in B Flat Major, Opus 18 #6; Beethoven: String Quartet in E Flat Major, Opus 74; Shostakovich: Piano Quintet Opus 57. Pianist Pamela Mia Paul is a distinguished and widely respected artist. A Julliard graduate, Ms. Paul has performed with the Vienna Symphony, The New York Philharmonic, and The Boston Pops. She is a former chair of the piano department at the University of North Texas. Located in Falls Village, Connecticut, Music Mountain is located on Music Mountain Road, where a short scenic drive will bring music lovers to Gordon Hall with ample & free parking. Beer and wine are available and, as is the Music Mountain custom, audience members are invited to picnic before the concerts on the scenic grounds.
Ticket prices for the 82nd season of Music
Mountain are $30 at the door, $27 in advance. (Admission is FREE for those
18 and under.) All concerts begin at 6:30pm on Saturday evenings and 3pm
on Sunday afternoons, unless otherwise indicated.
Group rates and pre season ticket vouchers are available. Discounts
