For Immediate Release: (Falls Village, CT) America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain, continues its 82nd anniversary season celebration with two acclaimed groups --- The South Shore Syncopators on Saturday, June 25th (6:30PM), kicking off the summer’s popular and crowd-pleasing Jazz Series, and St. Petersburg String Quartet slated for Sunday, June 26th (3PM) performing an exhilarating classical program of Brahms and Shostakovich . The weekend concerts are just a sampling of the 20 chamber, jazz and country groups that will grace Music Mountain’s concert stage and perform weekend concerts in Falls Village thru September 4th. Dance the night away when Long Island’s premiere dance orchestra The South Shore Syncopators make their Music Mountain debut and bring the 1920s and ‘30s back to life with accurate renditions of great music from the pre-swing decade for the Saturday evening concert. Ten instrumentalists and six vocalists will display their flair for projecting the original and invigorating spirit of music from the era of Harlem cabaret, the Ziegfeld Follies and Vaudeville to the Art Deco world of Busby Berkeley film musicals – guaranteed to have concert-goers dancing all evening! On Sunday, June 26th the St. Petersburg String Quartet, considered by many to be one of the world's most esteemed chamber ensembles, will delight audience members with their afternoon program which includes music from Brahms, one of the last 19th century’s masters along with 20th century master Shostakovich. The program will include: Brahms: Violin Sonata #3 in D Minor, Opus 108; Shostakovich: Quartet #4 in D Major, Opus 83; Brahms: String Sextet in G Major, Opus 36. Performing with the St. Petersburg Quartet will be guest artists Victoria Schwartzman, piano, Mikhail Bugaev, viola, and Adrian Daurov, cello. Founded in 1985, the St. Petersburg String Quartet has steadily risen to fame performing all over the world, including Spain, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Israel and the U.K. Located in Falls Village, Connecticut, Music Mountain is located on Music Mountain Road, where a short scenic drive will bring music lovers to Gordon Hall with ample & free parking. Beer and wine are available and, as is the Music Mountain custom, audience members are invited to picnic before the concerts on the scenic grounds. Ticket prices for the 82nd season of Music Mountain are $30 at the door, $27 in advance. (Admission is FREE for those 18 and under.)
